Cookie policy

This cookie policy explains what cookies are, which cookies and similar technologies the Bright Noise website uses, and how you can control them. Read it alongside our privacy policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences and show site owners how their website is used.

Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other organisations are called third-party cookies.

2. How we use cookies

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, we may only use cookies that are strictly necessary for our website to work without your consent. We ask for your consent before using any other cookies, and we do not set non-essential cookies unless you click “Accept all”.

We group cookies into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary: needed for the website to work and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
  • Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the website, so we can improve it. These only run if you accept them.
  • Marketing and personalisation: help us show more relevant content and measure our campaigns. These only run if you accept them.

3. The cookies we use

We do not currently use any analytics, marketing or personalisation cookies. If we add any, we will list them here and they will only be set if you click “Accept all”.

Third-party services

  • Google Fonts: our fonts are delivered by Google. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but Google receives your IP address when your browser requests the fonts. See Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
  • Cal.com: when you choose to book a discovery call, Cal.com opens in a new tab and may set its own cookies, under Cal.com’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
  • Vercel: our website is hosted by Vercel, which receives your IP address and basic technical data in its server logs when you visit. See Vercel’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

4. Managing your cookie choices

When you first visit our website, we ask whether you accept all cookies or reject non-essential cookies. We respect your choice and remember it for 12 months. After that, we will ask you again.

You can change your mind at any time. Changing your choice is as easy as making it in the first place. Use the link here or in the footer of any page. If you reject non-essential cookies, we will delete any non-essential cookies we have already set.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some parts of websites from working. Find out how in your browser’s help pages:

  • Google Chrome (opens in a new tab)
  • Apple Safari (opens in a new tab)
  • Mozilla Firefox (opens in a new tab)
  • Microsoft Edge (opens in a new tab)

For more information about cookies, visit the ICO’s guidance on cookies (opens in a new tab).

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy when we change the cookies we use or when the law changes. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top. If we make significant changes, we will ask for your consent again.

6. Contact us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, email hello@brightnoise.studio.
